The Caloundra Library redevelopment transforms the former Council Administration Building into a contemporary cultural and learning hub for the Sunshine Coast community.
Situated within Caloundra’s civic heart, the project reimagines an important piece of public infrastructure while preserving the civic memory embedded in the original structure. Wilson Architects worked closely with stakeholders to renew the building with sensitivity and purpose, strengthening its role as an inclusive community asset that fosters discovery, creativity and lifelong learning.
The design elevates the library as a welcoming civic living room, celebrating openness, connection and adaptability. It becomes a place where readers, families, students and visitors can come together in a warm, light-filled environment shaped by landscape and cultural identity.
