Logan North Library

Springwood, Queensland

Wilson Architects have been engaged to design and document Logan City Council’s new Branch library at Logan North.  Utilising the air rights over a carpark, the library makes the most of its south facing orientation to take advantage of the distant range views.  Designed within a cost plan of less than $2,500/m2 a relatively simply structural plan is given life through the more organic entry experience.

Environmental design considerations maximised glazing to the north and south whilst reducing heat gain to the west and east with heavily shaded windows which modulate the facade.   Wilson Architects have managed to modify materials and details to keep within the budget whist still no losing sight of the overall design strategy.
