Sustainable Futures Building

University of Queensland, Brisbane QLD

Wilson Architects and John Wardle Architects were part of shortlisted design competition for the Univesity of Queensland’s proposed interdisciplinary heart to the Engineering Precinct.

The new Sustainable Futures Building will bring together academia and industry in a collaborative environment that supports the progressive and interdisciplinary philosophy of the School of Chemical Engineering. The building will reinforce an atmosphere of openness and dialogue, and foster critical conversations through learning, teaching and research.

The building engages directly with ideas of discovery, collaboration, interaction and innovation through strategies of transparency, connection and scale. The display of learning and research is visible to students, industry and visitors, reinforcing the identity of the School as an international leader.
